Day One: Badjala Sandblow and the Valley of the Giants
After a private 4WD and barge transfer to the island, your hike begins at the M10 meeting point, heading through magnificent rainforest into the Valley of the Giants.
Along the way, there are two worthwhile side trips: the Badjala Sandblow lookout and the Giant Satinay tree walk, home to one of the oldest living trees on K'gari.
You'll camp overnight in the Valley of the Giants, surrounded by towering forest and some of the island's most impressive ancient trees.
Day Two: Lake Garawongera and Petrie's Camp
The morning starts with a short walk to see the Tallowood tree, one of the biggest and oldest on the island, before continuing on to the tea tree-stained waters of Lake Garawongera.
An optional 1km detour to the historic Petrie's Camp is well worth the extra steps, offering a glimpse into K'gari's past.
Your camp will be set up on arrival, with wine and cheese waiting in the rainforest before dinner and a peaceful night's sleep.
Day Three: Central Station, Pile Valley and Lake McKenzie
After a refreshing lake swim, you'll walk to Happy Valley on the Eastern Beach, where your guide drives you along the famous 75 Mile Beach through Eurong to Central Station for lunch.
From there, you'll walk through the striking tall timbers of Pile Valley before a final hike into Lake McKenzie's secret hikers' beach for a last swim before heading back to Hervey Bay.
